Wending your way through the neighbouring lanes
you are beginning to feel some unwanted pains,
and it is a bit of a shock to find you have only
reached the nondescript hamlet of Olney!
Make it to Clapham and we put twenty in the pot;
how much is that? Well, not a lot.
So pedal on up the A 421.
Oh boy, you must be having fun.
On to St Neot’s where you cross the Great Ouse,
at which point you cannot possibly refuse
another twenty smackers for what you have achieved,
with fast traffic dodged and roundabouts weaved.
Next stop Cambourne – no, not the Cornish one.
You may feel fatigued but you are not yet done.
Now would’nt it be just heaven
if you could spin down the M11?
But you have done really well to get this far
though next time I suggest you use the car.
It is certainly worth making it a three figure sum;
steady on though, this battle is not yet won.
You want to see as little of Cambridge as you possibly can,
and you probably wont even notice when you cross the River Cam.
It is not too far now to reach your destination.
When you see a sign to Sawston, you’ll be overcome with elation.
Well done indeed, you have kept yourselves out of trouble,
so anything gained thus far is certainly worth a double!
