The result of the infamous referendum
Has left us with a fine conundrum,
Since those who voted to leave
Had hardly begun to conceive
What life would be like on our own;
Or so the Remainers moan.
But our world today is full of big beasts,
superpowers and amalgamations.
And UK’s glory days have long since deceased
So we seem obliged to connect with smaller nations.
Like Switzerland, or Canada, or Norway,
Who appear to be prospering modestly
And finding things generally OK,
Though life in these lands seems quite costly.
Alas, I wander, so back to PM Teresa.
Wow ! She’s some serious female geezer!
She has red-lined the Irish and bargained with Brussels,
And left us no choice, and the Opposition no muscles.
Leader Corbyn has no earthly idea what to do,
And no one else has much of a clue.
It makes you believe we are a spent force
But I believe we will stay the course....
Possibly!
