We know a dear lady called Ann;
We count for her, each one of us, a fan.
Her sense of humour is both genial and great,
Often leaving us in a cheerful state.
Husband Russell is something else, entirely else;
a man of the country, of fields, of cattle and of fells.
He can speak deeply of his family life,
His many experiences, and of couse his wife.
Many of their friends are gathered here today
To celebrate 70 years of their marriage and love.
The good news is that they have no plans to go away,
Unless of course they get the call from above.
So our greetings and our thanks for your companionship,
