Farewell Tony, diving into the blue;
departure time has come, so it must be true
that you are Munich- bound,
your newest stamping ground.
Now you must find the guts
to negotiate Marienplatz!
We know now how it felt
working with this particular Celt;
fecund producer of quotations,
pillager of international relations,
rifling through the literary store
and always coming up with more.
What have you learnt these past five years?
You’ve identified all your hopes and challenged all your fears.
You’ve performed to both new lows and new highs -
yes, I’m thinking of Nancy Wise -
and Economics is no longer a drag,
thanks to Roger Martin-Fagg;
today you should be revealing all you’ve got
with the help of the omniscient Susan Scott.
So you leave us now completely armed
to perform to every corporate demand.
We wish you all the best,
but be mindful of the behest
to ensure that nothing at all will hinder
the endless growth of Linde!
