Is the cloak of this virus lifting?
Are we soon to be set free?
Are the policies of confinement shifting,
And will life now improve for you and me?

Thousands have died from this disease,
Daily life distorted by caution and care.
Can we soon begin to do what we please?
Can we travel again, free to go anywhere?

But remember what the cost of this plague has been;
The loss of lives, perhaps relatives or friends;
The worst pandemic we have ever seen,
And the time it will now take to make amends.
